Like everywhere else in the UK, this April seems to have been exceptionally
sunny. Now the sun hath set on Otter Valley for April we have had 218.7
hours of bright sunshine. That's an average of 7.3 hours a day. There were
no sunless days.

Now, I reckon it would have been much higher than this but we had a large
amount of days where the sun was too hazy for the R&D sunshine recorder to
register yet still shadows were cast. A Stokes crystal ball thingy might had
read higher, methinks (probably incorrectly).

243.0hr in Coventry, Nick.

With records dating back to 1894, this has been the sunniest April
locally since before that year -previous high 231.4hr in 1984..

Quite superb.
