Great visibility & attactive patches of altocumulus & dense cirrus
this afternoon. Scilly was clear from the hills just west of Penzance, some 35 miles distant. A very nice afternoon despite the cool wind. Interesting to see Scilly reported the highest 'MetO' Max in the SW yesterday, virtually unheard of in May. A demonstration of the high SST (which is sticking close to 13C despite the recent big swell) and that warm humid pool of air which gave yesterday evenings thunderstorms in Cornwall. Plenty of basking sharks around now, 5 off Porthcurno yesterday. Graham Penzance |
