The temperature anomaly difference between April & May was much less
here than for areas further east. (+2.1C in May, +3.3C in April)
Being surrounded by the cold sea in April obviously put a bit of a lid
on temperatures. Then in May 20 days saw the wind staying offshore
with shelter from the moors behind, making Penzance about the warmest
spot in Cornwall.
