Default Heavy rain much further East

Left home at 7.00 a.m with moderate rain falling. There was heavy rain to
the North and East at Witham from 5.00 am till 11.00am. So I was surprised
to find on returning that there had only been 1mm and the ground was still
parched. It would appear that the heavy rain was much further East running
through East Kent, the East Coast of Essex and up into East Anglia.
