Hello Rob,

As I had hinted in my last post, I thought we (as in the Yorkshire area)
were going to cop it.

But 82 mm!

Radio Leeds reported this morning that West Yorkshire Police had advised
that driver avoid Wakefield. West Yorkshire Fire Service had 100 flood
calls inside one hour. Sheffield has abandoned cars in the city centre.
One for the records then.

(Closer to home, the allotment on the hilltop of Gipton under water, a
water butt emptied yersterday nearly full.)

Dorian.

Almost the same figures up the road in Knaresborough, wet yesterday
followed by a very wet night.

00-00h 09-09h
13th 10.1mm 17.6mm
14th 42.5mm 81.5mm
15th 64.8mm 18.3mm

(looks like the MetO radar is down, stuck at 16:00 at the mo, with
another band heading north, though I think we may only just catch the
eastern end of that one)
