I asked a colleague what he thought of this June so far and he said
"Rubbish!". Yet down here in Devon, looking at the data at the halfway mark, it hasn't been at all bad and we seem to have escaped the worst of the weather. I certainly have known worse! Stats so far (1st-15th) Mean max 21.2C Mean min 11.0 Mean 16.1C Rainfall 17.6 mm Sunshine 105.4 hours Daily 6.6 hours average ____________________________ Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |

I agree Nick. Devon is looking lovely, green and lush as usual. Dartmoor is a
bit wet underfoot but we are used to that. Raining hard again, though, monthly rain total 46 mm so far (measured). Average for June though is 95mm. *Highest* day max. so far up here this month has been 21.7C which is very warm for Haytor in June as the average max. is 16.4C. Guess you'd be always shivering if you lived up here :-) ATB, Will. -- "Nick Gardner" wrote in message ... I asked a colleague what he thought of this June so far and he said "Rubbish!". Good visibility, sunny spells in the Bay, but big cb towards Camborne (as there was yesterday) took a couple of pics I might post later. My visitors were well pleased considering the forecasts. They've even taken up body boarding and drinking Doom Bar bitter - a cultural success story. Graham Penzance |

Graham Penzance Up until today the maximum temperature has exceeded 21°C on 7 consecutive days this June with 25.1°C reached on the 9th with little rainfall until the 15th/16th. It is fairly cludy at present with showers so I don't see the temperature reaching that level unless the sun appears later today. Not a bad month here so far. My visitors were well pleased considering the forecasts. They've
even taken up body boarding and drinking Doom Bar bitter - a cultural success story. Graham Where have they come from? That reminds me of when I took a load of Europeans (French, Germans etc) for their first drink in an English bar in Falmouth. We sat downstairs in the pub in the harbour (Chain & Locket I think). All their stereotypes of bad, warm English ale went out of the door in one clean stroke. They loved it, with all the different types of ale on offer and not one of them was served warm. And we had good food too. They were all hooked after that. Come to think of it, I have never had a warm pint of ale in this country, tepid, yes rarely, but definitely never warm. Sun's oot! Feeling warm and humid. Currently at 12:30, 17.0C, RH 72%, DP 12.0C, 1001.1 mb (S), Wind 4 mph SSW. 4 hours of sun so far today. ________________ Nick G Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |

Squinting at what bit of the radar is available seems like the heavier showers are just over my house and nowhere else in Devon :-) I'll be glad when today is over, it has not been a good one and the weather hasn't helped :-( Will -- |
