It looks like Greenland's going to get a sustained pulse of warm air next
week, while we're on the other side of the blocking high. I seem to remember Will posting something about a Miles' Extension a few winters back, I guess this is the summer version! Have a look at this chart from the 0z run: http://www.medvale.demon.co.uk/Rtavn1625.png I posted on a message board yesterday saying that I'd never seen the GFS spit out 20s over Greenland before, yet this morning it's still at it - indeed, even moreso than yesterday, which had a solitary 20 on the west side. Someone else pointed out that the temperatures over the icecap seemed pretty high too. Anyway - to those who have more experience of these things, is that chart as unusual as I think it is? |
