Default Weather forecasters required for MeteoGroup UK

WEATHER FORECASTERS REQUIRED

Are you seeking an exciting and rewarding career in meteorology?
MeteoGroup UK has opportunities for meteorologists with the relevant
qualifications to join its forecasting team.

MeteoGroup, a PA Group company, is Europe's leading independent
supplier of weather information providing a range of products and
services to weather critical and weather sensitive markets. In
addition to supplying page-ready forecast panels to the majority of
the UK's regional and national newspapers, MeteoGroup UK has also
demonstrated considerable success in many other market sectors in
recent years.

The first MeteoGroup company, Meteo Consult, was established in the
Netherlands in 1986. It quickly grew to become Europe's largest
private weather company. In 1997, MeteoGroup UK was established as a
joint venture between The Press Association and Meteo Consult.
MeteoGroup UK benefits from the extensive commercial and
meteorological experience and expertise of its staff and its sister
companies within MeteoGroup.

Relevant qualifications include either a degree or post-graduate
degree in meteorology or a related discipline.

Applicants should note that the ability to analyse synoptic charts and
interpret forecast charts would be a distinct advantage, as would
familiarity of the climate of the British Isles. A good knowledge of
the geography of the UK and Europe, excellent communication skills and
a willingness to work shifts, including weekends and nights, are
essential for all applicants.

The successful candidate can expect an attractive remuneration package
together with a generous benefits package, and 25 days holiday per
annum. You will also receive training on certain aspects of
meteorology, and have the opportunity of developing your skills within
Europe's largest private weather company at our London office.

To apply please send your CV together with a covering letter to:
Paul Knightley, Assistant Forecast Manager, MeteoGroup UK, PA News
Centre, 292 Vauxhall Bridge Rd, London SW1V 1AE.

Alternatively, e-mail:

Please note that applicants must either be an EU citizen, or hold a
valid UK work visa.
