Copley obs 09Z19th - 09Z 20th
Max 16.8C(at today's 09Z ob) min 11.5C rain 14.2mm (thunder early hours) sun 00Z-00Z nil Just 0.7hr sun since 11th, 61.4hr this month (31% month average) Lowest on record here is 126.1hr in 2001. Durham (University Observatory) June sunshine figures are quite variable, presumably depending on wind direction and North Sea influence. They vary from 89.4hr in June 1987 to 297.0hr in June 1940. Copley tends to be sunnier than Durham possibly because of greater exposure and distance from the sea, but an eventual June total below 100hr could well be noteworthy. 125.8mm rain this month (185% month average) In spite of the cool wind direction, mean so far NE 4.2KT, high rainfall and low sunshine, the warming trend is still there. Currently mean max 17.1C(+0.7) mean min 8.9C(+1.6) mean 13.0C(+1.2). Every June from 1996-2002 was cooler.
