I'm not overly concerned - another 1mm today, 10mm for the week, from 240%
worth of severe weather warnings. ;-)

You really will have to take that umbrella off your rain gauge :-)
Just 12.6 mm so far here today.

On the 1702 weather warning chart it appears that only the Isle of Man is
spared.

Same here, been a nice day in Penzance. Max 20.2C with plenty of
sunshine and a light to moderate breeze.

The weather warnings really have to be very specific to be of much
use.

North coast OK too. http://217.41.30.123/password?id=staff&pwd=staff

And those curious islands off the east coast of Scotland.

I don't think the IOM will ever light up as it's not covered by the UKMO.

Which at any more than an hour or two's notice (and that may be
optimistic) is unlikely to be possible with thundery downpours.

Yes, is it tricky, this is where I agree with Norman's view on
Nowcasts.

I find it hard to see why there is a severe weather warning for
Cornwall tomorrow (There's also one for Sun & Mon). It is not
supported by the local forecasts. If you are say in Penzance, it's
going to be dry with spells of sunshine tomorrow according to
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/...t_weather.html
Might be a light shower on Sun, back to dry with some sunshine Mon.

What's the poor punter to believe?
