Default Pz - Wettest start to year on Record.

June has not been exceptionally wet here (so far 101.8mm - 150% of
normal for June).

However, the 1st half of the year has been. With 2 days to go the
rainfall total for Jan-JUne is 712.9mm (Driest Jan-June - 360mm in
1992) My records start in 1991.

It's also been, by a large margin, the warmest Jan-June period on
record. Average temp 11.6C, easily beating 10.8C in 2002.

I'm hopeful that the Azores high looks like edging back towards
Cornwall in July.

Given how dry March (after the 9th) and April were, it does show how
wet the remaining months were.

Hi Graham

108 mm of rain so far here for June.

Stats for Jan - Jun 2007
Mean temp 10.3C
Rainfall 529 mm
Sunshine 807 hours

I'm hopeful that the Azores high looks like edging back towards
Cornwall (and Devon!) in July.

I feel it in me bones, it won't be long now (I hope); hot, sunny
weather..... mmmmmmm.

GFS does show it tantalisingly close at times, as it's been doing for
some time.

You've certainly got to be as far south as possible though (Lizard
village perhaps!)

Been pouring in Penzance this afternoon, the rainfall radar hasn't
really done it justice, possibly because the rain's been quite fine. A
sort of torrential drizzle!
