Anne where is Fochabers?
57º37'N 3º07W Sounds Scottish to me. Yes. It's where the main Aberdeen to Inverness road crosses the River Spey. If you have heard of Baxters soup, this is where it's made. Weather update: it is now snowing on one side of the house, and sunny on the other. Anne |

Fochabers - the village one of the Dukes of Gordon had moved because he could see it from his castle :-) Drove through it many times on my way from Banff to the fleshpots of Elgin (and back again)! Good chippy there, Baxters Foods and Christie's Nursery - that's about all I can remember of it! I must have passed through it in November, 1978, but alas I can't remember it at all. -- John Hall Johnson: "Well, we had a good talk." Boswell: "Yes, Sir, you tossed and gored several persons." ![]() Ah! Fochabers - the village one of the Dukes of Gordon had moved because he could see it from his castle :-) Well he wasn't the only one to move a village away from his castle. Drove through it many times on my way from Banff to the fleshpots of Elgin (and back again)! There's desperation for you .... Good chippy there, Baxters Foods and Christie's Nursery - that's about all I can remember of it! All still there. Plus a Chinese take-away and a tearoom. Still having all seasons in one day here.
