Some exceptionally heavy rainfall from around 11:15 to 12:00 with a maximum
rain rate of 114.3 mm/hr. Between 11:45 and 12:00 there was 12.7mm recorded on my Davis VP gauge which is almost certainly substantially less than the volume that a standard gauge would have recorded. The road and grass verge outside formed a mini river at that time. Total rainfall today 28.7mm. Alan Gardiner Chiswell Green, St Albans 101m ASL |
