Default It good to get my feet back on teracotta: John Prescott

You couldn't make it up. After seeing remarks elsewhere relating to building
homes on arrears that are easily flooded -just plain mad- and a post about
John Prescott ; I just had to mention this.

Story from yesterdays Telegraph:

"Taxpayers face a massive bill to repair flood damage in Hull after the
local council admitted that its properties were not insured"

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.../nflood422.xml

Ermm....isn't Hull a Labour Council and isn't Mr Prescott the MP for Hull
East? Now don't get me wrong but isn't it Labour who have been rattling on
about severe weather as a result of AGW-why Milliband raised the link in
Parliament only recently.

JP himself had this to say at a Climate Change conference in America

"He praised both President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore for their
leadership on the environment, noting that Gore last year was right to
publicise the fact earth's temperatures are rising and inclement, dangerous
weather is increasing. "

Now maybe JP was caught on the hop and although he's usually good at
sticking his big marxist nose into Building control, Home energy efficiencey
packs and their red expensive tape and allowing for brown site (city
gardens) to be built on and planning for the building of millions of homes
along the thames estuary-plain daft -this time where is was a real issue
that he should have stuck his nose into -he failed. JP forgot about the
importance of Insurance cover for his constituents of Hull East where they
now face a 200 million pound bill for the sake of £250.000 excess. In the
spirit of the weather "what a shower", somehow though it's more tragic than
funny. By the way JP's Climate Change warning speech quoted above was in the
year 2000-well he has been ill.
