September 2007 - Penzance
September in Penzance
Aspect SE - Alt 19m TEMPERATURE Av. Max 19.9 (+1.7) Av. Min 11.1 (-0.5) Average 15.5 (+0.6) The unusually large temperature range meant that although the average minimum was only just above the lowest on record (11.0 in both 1993 & 1996) the average maximum was the 5th highest in the last 17 years. Absolute Max 24.1C - 7th Absolute Min 3.9C - 27th (a new record for September) Lowest Max 15.2C - 26th Warmest Night 15.5C - 3rd RAINFALL Total Rainfall 37.5mm (39%) Wettest Day 13.5mm - 30th Rain Days (= 0.2mm) - 11 Wet Days (= 1.0mm) - 7 There was no hail or thunder. 0 days with fog at 09:00 Strongest Gust - 34mph on 24th (No anemometer for the 1st 16 days) The 1st 15 days saw a lovely spell of late Summer weather. Only 1.1mm rain & plenty of sunshine. The average maximum temperature during this period was 21.6C, and the lowest max was 19.5C on 11th. The averages used are those for 1971-2000 Graham Penzance |
