Some heavy rain this morning which cleared East as predicted.
The forecast this morning predicted something of a 'curl back'
into the SE this evening but at the moment there is persistent
moderate/heavyrain here, long after it was supposed to have
cleared. Even the local forecast, just an hour ago mentioned
nothing more than a decaying band of light rain/drizzle
coming South.

Just goes to show how difficult rainfall forecasting is, even
at the range of a few hours!

Mmm - having praised the forecast I can see some heavier rain on the radar
heading this way too. Tonight's forecast for here said "moving out in to the
North Sea this evening, perhaps leaving some patchy drizzle in the S.E" .
I'll hae to see if there's been an update.

When the belt of rain was showing up over the west of the UK, Dan Corbett
likened the shape to a boomerang, so I also expected it to come back.
