I was checking my own temperature monitor earlier, at around 13:00, when I
saw it read 19.3c! This seemed a bit much, given the forecast, so I checked the weather station reading from Dun Laoghaire Harbour and I found that the maximum reached was actually 21.2c at about 12.50 p.m. Since then it has started to slip back but the readings from this morning show it has been a markedly mild period of weather for the time of year. It will do wonders for the mean October temperature for Dublin that, until today, was running at 11c, 0.4c above the 1961-1990 mean and 0.6c below that of last October. This is that high reading from Dun Laoghaire earlier on: a.. Time: 11:51 hrs GMT a.. Tide Height: 4.201 m a.. Wind Bearing: 215 ° a.. Wind Direction: SW a.. Wind Speed: 7.2 kts a.. Beaufort: 3 a.. Wind Gust: 15.4 kts a.. Air Temperatu 21.2 ° a.. Pressu 1010.6 hPa a.. Rainfall: 0 mm The link to see that trend for the previous six hours is as follows: http://www.dlharbour.ie/weather/previous_6_hours.php Joe -- The box said "Requires Windows 98, XP, or better",... so I installed Linux! |

Looks a little on the high side, I noticed It reached 22.0C. Dublin Airport reporting 18.0C at 14z, Dun Laoghire 21.9C at 14z. Still very warm for the last week in October....enjoy :-) A not so tropical 14.0c here in Raunds. Ian, Raunds, East Northants. 63m. Dublin Airport is more exposed and generally is a degree or two lower in readings. I have two sensors at different locations in my garden and the top reading was an impressive 19.3c. Even now it's reading 18.9c at 15:40! I agree 22c seems very high however D'Laoghaire can be a sheltered spot away from the SW winds and there was quite strong sunshine earlier. Having said that I would like to see other readings from nearby if possible. As you say, still very warm for time of year...I won't complain! ;-) Joe |
