I am currently penning an email awaiting the end of November. I'd hate
a random lucky storm to get Piers crowing. I also plan to ask them to
invite Piers to comment, should something not happen.

I'll remember to include something about Madeleine McCann / Diana in
the email just to ensure it gets published.

That'll be the solar wind.

He did say this storm would be "a taster" of what is to follow in
November - and we still have a couple of days to go for this warning
to expire. I think if we wait for the third warning to fall flat it
will give us maximum chance to really rub it in.

But even that was supposed to have 80 mph gusts.
Nothing remotely that strong has ocurred, oeve in the most
exposed locations.
No doubt had Cairgorm summit recored an 80 mph gust
with little of any significance elsewhere, Corbyn would have
been crowing that he was correct.

No, no, no
We are in the midst of his forecast storms. We're just too biased to
notice!

More disturbingly (seeing as I work in the insurance industry) - I got
wind (pardon the pun) of - allegedly - a UK-based insurer that was at
least thinking of buying more insurance cover for itself on the back
of Piers' forecast.

Gobsmacking. How can these unverified forecasts be allowed to seep
into a decision-making process. Stunning.

I could be wrong but I suspect he doesn't care whether the forecasts are
right or wrong, either way the goal has already been achieved. I think the
phrase goes something like "there's no such thing as bad publicity"..

We must be due some white hell/invasion of polar bears etc headlines soon.

Jon.

Corbyn is in a long tradition. I did a search on the Web for "Murphy's
Winter" in 1838, which turned up this:
