Default MicroLite USB Temperature Data Logger

http://www.microdaq.com/fourier/micr...usb_logger.php

I've been using this data logger for a week now and have found it very
useful and reasonably accurate. Basically it's designed for commercial
use to monitor temperature in containers etc, but I have found this
perfectly adequate for recording my grass minimum temperatures. The main
reason I went for this was so I could log the data for those days that I
am away from home.
I have the 16k sampler version, which set at 5 minute intervals, will
give me over 7 weeks logging, far more than I need of course :-) It's
claimed to be IP68 although IP66 is also referred to in other places.
However, it does seem pretty sealed to the elements. The MicroLab Lite
software is free to down load and easy to use, the full guide can be
downloaded he

It displays max/min alternately with the currect temp on the LCD
display, but you need to download the data to check your readings each
day. Of course you could reset it each day. The accuracy seems to
compare well with what my Davis is recording, it claims to be 0.3°C
accurate.

I bought mine from the USA:

Th main drawvback was the $50 postage (FedEx), but the service was good.
Basically, these are generally sold with minimum order quantities.

The Loggershop in Bournemouth have a 20 off MOQ plus charge £18 postage
and the reply I got when I queried this was quite rude! So I would'nt
touch them with a barge pole! If there was an interest within usw a bulk
order might be the way forward, but I can't see 20 takers some how ;-)

So to sum up this is pretty useful item which placed in the right
location would be another cheap way of recording and logging any daily
Max/Min temperatures.

Regards
