Doesn't feel that cold, no frost.

Blimey Will!

It doesn't feel that cold?? I've just been outside at it is perishing, that
wind is of the type that cuts straight through you. Yuk!

Looks like the cloud is breaking up though, so maybe we'll see a bit of
sunshine as recompense for this continental cloudy crud.

Currently at 10:25, 2.2C, RH 79%, DP -1.1C, 1033.9 mb (S), Wind 8 mph E.

I really wouldn't describe it as perishing just a day when you need to wear a
decent coat, hey it is winter after all!

Two winters ago we were up at High Willhays (621m) in deep snow, temperatures -1
to -2C and a wind of at least force 4 occ 5 with lots of riming on the summit.
That was almost perishing :-)

Guess people are different!

I went for a walk up to Yes Tor two winters ago. The Tor was covered in snow
and ice, the sun was shining out of a cloudless, deep blue sky. There wasn't
a breath of wind.

Icicles were hanging from the granite tors, and these were sparkling in the
sunshine. There was nobody about and looking into the heart of Dartmoor was
just a deep layer of virgin snow stretching to the horizon. We walked for
hours around the tors, it was magical.

Thanks for that lovely description Nick. We obviously went on the wrong day, but
didn't have a choice.

Minimum of 7.7C here last night, currently around 9C. Topped 11C
yesterday.

If the wind backs a fraction more, the air will be coming down the
peninsula rather than off the sea, and then the temperature drop back
a few degrees.

Cloudy & ESE wind gusting 20-25mph, so it feels distinctly cold.

Here in Exwick, NW Exeter, temp was 2C under OVC SC sheet when I got home
from my night shift. Reached a max of 2.6C at some point, now back down to
2.3C. A good day for sleeping!

Will doesn't consider it cold unless he sees a polar bear out of his
window...
