Maximum temperature in Canterbury today of only 1.8C - only the second
day since I started recording in 2004 with a maximum of less than 2C
(the other was 1.5C on 2 March 2005).

Temperature currently (1600Z) 0.4C and falling at a rate of 1.2 degrees
C per hour.

Here in Coulsdon, Surrey it was just 0.1C in spite of some glimmers of
sunshine during the middle part of the day and was the lowest December max
since minus 0.4C in 2000.
