Although we have a couple of days to go, and some more rain expected
too by the looks of it, our annual rainfall total of 894.0mm so far has already made this the wettest year in Coventry since 1912 (939.6mm). Steve Jackson Bablake Weather Station Coventry UK www.bablakeweather.co.uk |

The England and Wales figure looks like just passing 1000mm, around 7 or 8% above the 1971-2000 mean, and lower than 2004, 2002, and 2000. Philip |

Just 646 mm in this part of east Scotland so far this year, and that's not particularly dry for here. Trevor In the Sidlaws, near Dundee |

Steve Jackson Bablake Weather Station Coventry UKwww.bablakeweather.co.uk Looks like being around normal here, and certainly drier than 2006 (1254mm). In fact it looks almost certain that 10 of the last 16 years will have been wetter. It also looks like beating my previous warmest year (2003) by 0.1C. Graham Penzance |

I'm really surprised at that one Steve, thought it would have been higher! Here our highest rainfall total from 1960 to 1996 stood at 934.6 in 1966 but since 1997 we've gone well past that total on a number of occasions. 1997 941.8mm 1999 1033.6mm 2000 1127.3mm 2004 1009.2mm 2007 966.5mm (so far) 2002 also recorded 933.6mm, so we've had some very wet years in the last 11 years. In 2007 however, we were right on the dege of the June'July deluge, though catching no where near as much rain as Hereford and Worcestershire. I would be interested to see the Pershore annual rainfall total when it is available, for example. I do have some annual rainfall totals fpr 1870 to 1892 for Coventry, but haven't checked them out yet, though 1872, 1876, 1878, 1880, and 1882 look like very high totals to me, perhaps too high - do you have some RF totals for for E&W for that period, Philip I wonder?
