Overall a rather cool, dry year. The overall average temperature was
8.8C (-0.4C from the ten-year mean, but not as cool as 2005), and the
rainfall totalled 650.3 mm (89% of the average, but nowhere near as dry
as 2003). There were several points of interest.

Winter 2006-07 was mild (but not as mild as 1997-98) and with 307.2 mm
of rain, easily the wettest winter so far. GIven its mildness, there
obviously wasn't much snow about, and temperatures were never very low.

Spring was dry and with about average temperatues; March and May were
cool, but cancelled out by the exceptional warmth of April.

It was coldest summer in my records so far, with an overall mean of
13.3C (-1.2C).

Autumn was the driest in my records - 94.2 mm of rain, 46% of average

It was the coldest December since 1996. An anticyclonic cold spell on
20-22 December saw 43 hours of frost, an equal record (with December
2005).

The highest temperature of the year was just 23.5C on 24 August - the
lowest yearly maximum I've ever recorded (if you see what I mean). The
lowest was -6.8C on the morning of the 22 December.

The last frost was 2 April, the first 25 October. An anticyclonic cold
spell on 20-22 December saw 43 hours of frost, an equal record (with
December 2005).
