That's cold, even for Ojmjakon, where the mean min for Jan
is about -52°C. But -60°C is reached most winters. Oddly enough,
Jakutsk has warmed up to -38° in the last day or two. Maybe "OVC200"
has something to do with it but the cloud must be very thin and in any
case seems to be reported every day when the sky is visible at all.
This is about half of all days in midwinter, the rest having fog, much
of it produced by the city itself, it seems.
