Default Volcanoes & Wet Winters

OK, in the southern half of the UK we've now had three or four dry-ish
days in a row. But it's been a wet winter, right?

Well can somebody investigate and find out if I'm wrong: it seems to
me that every year when there's a major volcanic eruption in the
northern hemisphere, after a couple of months we get a wet season in
the UK. I seem to recall this happening again and again, as far back
as the big Mt St Helens eruption.

There was a significant volcanic thing in the last few months, wasn't
there?

Obviously such events put a lot of dust particles in the upper
atmosphere, which could seed precipitation.

Is there a correlation?
