What's this about John Kettley then ?
Are the Beeb finally getting rid of the last of the old school ,as I heard
him making a sort of farewell cry at 8-30 on Radio5 live this morning ?.
Trying not to be sexist in any way(honestlyGianna) I don't think I could
stand listening to yet another bubbly girl telling me to wrap up warm,
listen to the floodlines, and don't forget my shovel and tow rope whilst
journeying to Sainsburys.
..Worse still of course,Desperate Dan is still out there......

I thought he'd left already to join a new company and was freelancing for
the beeb.

I never rated John Kettley as a particularly good presenter/forecaster
as he often had the habit of starting his forecast on Radio 5-live at
some sporting event, eg Burnley FC of Doncaster races, and than darted
out from whereever to other parts of the country so that you didn't
get a logical picture of what the weather was doing. Sometimes your
area was missed out completely.
His meteorological knowledge also seemed to be lacking when in reply
to someone who had phoned in with a question about what determined the
way that hurricanes move replied that they were 'steered westwards by
the sub-tropical jet stream.'
