... well, if he did say that, then it's an oversight: there are plenty
of METAR & SYNOP reporting stations showing that it is still pretty
windy across the northern-half of the UK, and there is currently a
particularly anomalous 'squeeze' across the northern Pennines as the
upper ridge drifts in from the west.

Pity - I thought (having not seen Countryfile forecast in months) it was a
very well-given forecast, despite the fact that as Rob ages he appears to
be morphing (facially and sartorially) into Prince Charles.

Also suggests that although we've got a cold northerly it'll be nothing
special at low ground in the south. Move along, nothing to see here !

I don't watch TV forecasts anymore, but I'd be interested to know what
confidence figure Rob attached to the forecast?

As for gaps, there is only one regularly reporting and publicly available

every
10 minute site on Dartmoor - me!!!!!
Guess that's why it is well used LOL.

Where's Dunkeswell? That often seems to be surprisingly chilly, so I had
been assuming that it was somewhere on Dartmoor.

High up in the Blackdown hills in east Devon (not far from Honiton). I think it
is at about 260m asl. It is not on Dartmoor.

Will.
Is that you in the Haytor Panoramic? I'm a bit doubtful as there are no logs
in view.

Thanks. Nice to see that the splendid old-fashioned work "aerodrome" is
still in use.
