Evening all,
I knew it was windy today with a peak gust of 62.5MPH at 10:04, however it wasn't until I took a look at my wind speeds for Moulton Seas End this evening that I saw the following: Mean wind speed for the hour ending 0930 was 43MPH. In fact the mean wind speed between 0834 and 1044 was 41.3MPH. An exceptionally high mean for lowland Eastern England I believe. The wind today appeared less stormy than other windy episodes - is this my imagination? I can certainly recall "noisier", more damaging winds with a lower mean than today's in this area. The hourly mean has now dropped to 20MPH (at 19:40). Regards Paul |
