I know you're all going to groan (especially snowlovers), but we are
in the midst of another major winter storm (15 to 30 cm of snow, sleet and freezing rain) here in southern Ontario. However, some of you may be smiling because I've read that it's snowing in parts of England and Scotland today. Hurrah! The snow is powdery here though, as the temperature is only minus 7C at 10:50 a.m. EST. Prior to this storm there was no snow on the ground in exposed areas (but sizable piles in build-up areas), due to the sustained gale force winds on January 30th, which scoured all the snow off of fields and many lawns.
