Philip Eden Philip, Big storms around Teesside on 10th - Mike Cinderey recorded 49mm in 15 minutes at Carlton in Cleveland. Only 3mm here in Copley that day. There were deaths and lots of damage in the Hartlepool area. Nothing much made of it on national news or by our SW based Met O. We drove from Manchester through the peak district and then down to Cambridge on the 10th August. Heavy rain until we hit the M1.On the car radio it gave out there had been localised flooding in some parts of the North East and Yorkshire There was even showers north and west of Cambridge that night, we drove through them, but they were very localised Jim Webster |
