Took some snaps of the clouds today and have used Google Picasa 'I
feel lucky' button to slightly enhance them...

Most of those are excellent examples of Cirrocumulus lacunosus,
clouds I have seen on just a handful of occasions over the years
and have only photographed twice, once on 14 April 1979 and
the other on 11 August 2005. The amazing thing was that both
photos were taken from exactly the same spot; Hound Tor on
Dartmoor in Devon.

Wow! Just 2 miles from my house as the crow flies, in fact I will be walking
from there tomorrow! You do get some wonderful cloud scene-scapes up on the
moor.

Try looking at such stuff with Polaroid sunglasses. Do they make
polarised lenses for cameras? (Wasting my time asking on here I know.
But one never knows when the penny will drop with the occasional
dolt.)

I sometimes wonder why you bother posting here at all, what with
you being so much more intelligent than the rest of us.

That's quite a useful idea and yes, they make polarising filters which
are often used for cloudscapes.

There are two Hound Tors and a Little Hound Tor. I hope you're both
talking about the same one.
