The Met Office is suggesting wind gusts up to 80 mph in exposed areas. That
is fairly normal for a winter windstorm (you would expect one or two in an
average year).

It looks pretty bad for Cornwall and the Bristol Channel coasts, with
that low centre now over north Wales.

The updated forecasts are fairly exceptional. Gusts to 77mph in
Penzance from a direction it's sheltered from would indicate gusts
well in excess of 90mph at nearby exposed locations. Also
seehttp://magicseaweed.com/Sennen-Gwenvor-Surf-Report/4/ 37' is very
big by anyones standards.

It's the combination of factors which could make it really bad. Bude
gusts to 81mph with a massive swell & a large Spring Tide

They are, of course, only forecasts.

Why?
Is it where the seven wives of that farmer with all the rats are due?
