A windy ol' night here, difficulty sleeping as the gusts were very noisy
sending things crashing and blowing around. Between 01:00 and 04:30 gusts were frequently in excess of 50 mph with the maximum gust being 58 mph. Calmer weather from 05:00 but in the last hour the wind have picked up again but from the SW as opposed to the SE earlier on. Currently (09:45), 7.0C, RH 84%, DP 4.1C, 964.4 hPa (F), Wind 16 mph SW, 25.7 mm since 21:00 yesterday. ________________ Nick G Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |

If the max gust turns out to be 58mph that's still 3mph short of the 61mph recorded in Exeter last week. However, I note a plant pot has toppled over in my front garden which means this morning's damage is comparable with the worst of the gales I've experienced in the last 5 years down here.
