Does anybody know if there is any kind of gizmo being sold that might give
the following effect? Tonight there was, around 11pm onwards a rapidly moving patch of diffuse light racing randomly around the sky. It was whitish, relatively low, maybe just below the continuous cloud base. Basically looked about a metre in size, irregular in shape, slight tail effect. It was moving rapidly and randomly but only within in my visual field to the east. The pattern was almost like one of those stunt kites you see, dipping and diving. It seemed fairly low. I thought it was somene shining a light in the sky but there was no beam. It carried on for at least 40 mins and was still going so unlikely to be hand-held. An aircraft flew by and although higher the white headlights looked similar diffusing through the cloud. If this was generated from above then it was weird. Any ideas? Finally- I have not been drinking, my wife saw it first and I got it very faintly on film! Dave, S.Essex |
