TopKarten (or somebody) used to offer reanalysis synoptic archives
going back to the 1890s but I cannot now find anything before 1948.

Last year I gave my sister a 60th birthday present of the chart for
the day she was born in 1947. She now wants to know if I can do the
same for her husband's 65th (born April 1943.)

The put out a DVD some time back. If you write to the site they may
send you one it was only a few Euros.

The Meto is about to get a looksee about their data according to a
govt initiative. I can't say more as the term seems an oxymoron.

If I can find my copy I'll post the data if you want.

They are still there. On the main page click "Bodendruckkarten
1880-1950". That takes you he
http://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten/fsslpeur.html

e.g. the chart for April 1 1943 is at http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive...lp19430401.gif

So if you want to access a chart directly, use the above URL and edit
the date parts (after "/slp/") as required.

Many many thanks!

A novel birthday present. I hadn't realised that my sister had
actually enjoyed such an unusual present. I hope that my brother-in-
law is equally appreciative.
