I'd be grateful to hear from anyone who runs an Instromet weather station
using Met4Net version 1.7. Very occasionally, the software is apt to enter odd values for rainfall, wind speed and sunshine into the database. The display panel continues to register correct values, whilst the program seems to totalise at random. It has been suggest that voltage surges and dips may be responsible, although I have a back-up battery/surge protector fitted which records any variation so I can safely rule this one out. It did some weird calculations yesterday between 16:15 and 16:45 and again today at 19:30 - but has been behaving itself quite well for a good few weeks other than the fact that it also struggles to record winds from NNW and NNE on MetMonitor or MetActive. The software which I am describing supports a Climatica Executive system and is the one which is installed at the weather station at Pitsford Hall. At home I have a similar system (Climatica Plus), but this has been running Met4Net version 1.6.1 without any of the problems I've mentioned. Of course, I am tempted to uninstall Met4Net 1.7 and reinstall Met4Net 1.6.1 to see if that cures the problem. I should point out that Met4Net is running alongside Weatherlink on the same computer - do you think that there is some form of conflict between the two programs? Maybe I should try running Met4Net by itself and see if that works.. Any help of course would be much appreciated! Mike Pitsford Hall www.northantsweather.org.uk |
