Not sure what was in the SYNOP but a quick look through the SREWs ending at
18Z suggests something around 3.4mm with a further 1.2mm from the shower
that passed through at 20Z.

I got 4mm. Seemed more in the north of the county where I was today.

Thanks John,

As that location is about 6 miles to my east I'm trying to compare my
readings as I have a feeling I am recording a little low.

For me the @ 18z I recorded 2.4mm, then a further 1.2mm after 18z. I
have an old plastic rain gauge, which is probably less reliable but
upto 18z that recorded 4.2mm and on the 27th it recorded 7.8mm whereas
my AWS recorded 5.2mm, such is life ;-)
