As Will said, a glorious morning. 3 cm of powder snow from heavy
showers, particularly around 0200. Temp fell to -3.1 after the snow. It has to be said that aspect for snow cover at 0900 is very important. Looking out of the window SE (1100) it's still white here (just) but outside of the village virtually all the snow had gone by 0900 and the same happened in the March snowfalls. The valley, which is N-S, really does retain the snow well, whereas the Wold tops clear very quickly when the sun comes up. David Mitchell. Langtoft. |
