Quite a lively thunderstorm here in sheffield with thunder first heard
around 5pm more and more frequent lightning followed then a
significant gust before the heavy rain started with 5-7mm hail mixed
in for around 10 mins. Then moderate rain and almost constant thunder
seemed light there was two separate storms with lots of C-C seeming to
go very long distances across the sky,

We live in SE Sheffield, four miles west off Jn 30, M1 and we lost our
satellite signal due to this event for a good ten minutes... impressive
rainfall... like a summer downpour...
