Pulling back the curtains this morning revealed a distant
CI anvil through a gap in an AS sheet to the WNW at approx. 0700Z (thunder about?). The gap has since filled in. Locally, the areas of undulating AC hint at instability but no castellanus is evident at this time. The sun is easily visible through a thin veil of AS. A few spots of rain fell at 0825Z. The AS canopy of varying thickness has persisted all
day (mainly in eastern half of sky now) with quite dark areas of AC underneath; the sky essentially unchanged today. Intermittent slight rain this afternoon has come to nothing (or a trace); the ground barely damp before quickly drying out. -------------------------------------------------------- SYNOP 04/0850Z 03/// 41970 81311 10157 20092 40205 52005 72122 8807/ 333 84360 88465= -------------------------------------------------------- SYNOP 04/1750Z 03/// 11968 71108 10170 20100 40210 57005 69902 72162 8707/ 333 10188 85359 85467= METAR EG// 041750Z 11008KT CAVOK 17/10 Q//// BLU= Details at 1750Z: wind...
