Default [OBS] Romsey - Sunday 4th May 2008

Pulling back the curtains this morning revealed a distant
CI anvil through a gap in an AS sheet to the WNW at
approx. 0700Z (thunder about?). The gap has since
filled in. Locally, the areas of undulating AC hint at
instability but no castellanus is evident at this time. The
sun is easily visible through a thin veil of AS. A few
spots of rain fell at 0825Z. Currently:

Default [OBS] Romsey - Sunday 4th May 2008

The AS canopy of varying thickness has persisted all
day (mainly in eastern half of sky now) with quite dark
areas of AC underneath; the sky essentially unchanged
today. Intermittent slight rain this afternoon has come
to nothing (or a trace); the ground barely damp before
quickly drying out.
