Yes, either that, or a power glitch, or a failing battery. The max
seems to be 3degC too high for the location. The site has been
fully automated for some time but I suppose the screen could
have been opened for cleaning or maintenance (if such operations
are still deemed financially appropriate).

Prestatyn, not all that far from Crosby, and he logged 23.1°C
yesterday. There was a similar over-the-top max reported at

Very true. It's a warmer day today generally. 23.5C has been exceeded
at a number of stations and 25C looks like it will be achieved, for
the first time this year, at several locations by the end of the
afternoon.

I can confirm it has been, here. 25.3C when I checked earlier, though it
might have gone slightly higher since.
