Over Cornwall that is. Wind all over the place as Cb develop & fade,
mainly along the spine, and down the Lizard. Temperature's around 15C in the sunny intervals. With the air this unstable that's high enough to set off a sea breeze, so area's near the north coast in particular could get some intense rain. Graham Penzance |

Graham Penzance Couldn't be more different along the coast at Southampton - solid murk during daylight hours for the past 2 days. Guess you must be the other side of the front? Nick |

Saves having to water my sweet peas! -- MCC It hasn't proved to be a great flash weather warning by the Met Office for Devon this time. The activity has been further West. I know the flash warning was for "the SW", but that stretches about 150 miles from the East Devon border to Land's End! The flash warning map does highlight Devon and it does say that the Met Office has an 80% confidence of severe weather. This has been the 20% of the time when they weren't right for my area, though they may well have been for Cornwall. Still a couple hours to go, but little on the radar to suggest severe weather here. It happens. |

See www.easterling.freeserve.co.uk/showers.html looking ENE towards the Camborne area from my garden. Pleasant enough evening now. Apparently it was a nice day on Scilly (where I'm off to for a week on Tuesday - good place to be in unstable weather) Graham Penzance |

Nick Certainly a very different day to yesterday, when it was cool, damp & dismal. Around 3C warmer today (max 16C rather than 13C) with sunny intervals and a few large drops of rain, not amounting to that much, apart from a heavy burst around 13:30. Then all the activity moved inland and towards the north coast. www.easterling.freeserve.co.uk/showers.html Graham Penzance |

Well, I find it bizarre and slightly annoying (now) that the severe warning is still valid for Dorset - apparently these reflect 'confidence' that something 'might' happen. R |

R Currently there is an advisory for heavy rain right across the far south with a moderate risk level. This was issued early on Friday for Saturday. Jon. |
