[WR] -RA 09Z West Moors, East Dorset
..... rainfall read at 09Z for previous 24hr (most of it falling
overnight from ~22Z) = 25.4 mm. Light rain now, but has been moderate/continuous past couple of hours, and for much of the overnight period, moderate ocnl heavy. Rainfall past 10 days = 97 mm; using the mean monthly rainfalls of May and June, and crudely assuming an even distribution across these past 10 days (which isn't right I know, but I haven't got such detailed data), then the 97 mm represents very roughly 5 or 6 times the average we might expect.
