Hi Eric
I just wondered how your temp screen was situated. Mine is exposed to full sun all day, and reads a bit high on quiet sunny days (as yesterday). Is your screen exposed to full sun all day, or does it get early/sun late sun only (or no sun at all!). I ask this as the temp in my north facing, totally shaded area matches your 18.8 quite well (it was 19.2 at 0900Z). So I have about a 2 degree diff depending on exposure (my AWS was 21.1 at 0900). It's not easy to get it right! Still the AWS is representative of my garden - even if it is a bit under-exposed to a full breeze (but it is aspirated)! -- Roy Avis Bracknell Weather/Webcam updated every minute plus Latest Statistics at: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/roy.avis/WDLive/index.html ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ PC and all mail in/out check by latest version of Norton AntiVirus/Internet Security "Eric Belton" wrote in message ... Hi Roy
My screen is a home made one, situated more or less in the middle of the back garden. There is a large tree some 5m to the SE of the screen and wooden fences on three sides of the garden. The large tree means that the screen is not in full sunlight at this time of the year until mid afternoon. I have often noticed that your temperature is higher than mine on sunny days, especially up until midday. Max temps though end up being in fairly good agreement. It must be difficult for you to decide on which readings to use. My night min temps also tend to be higher than most. Down to exposure I guess and non standard instrumentation. Hope this helps. Thanks, Eric, that's given some idea of how your layout is. Most airfield stations are pretty
open by nature - but of course, are not typical of the places where most people dwell! Roy =============== "Eric Belton" wrote in message ...
