Yesterday was sunny & calm in Penzance - with a good view of the heavy
showers along the Lizard. Reached 19.C - a degree higher than the official warmest place in the SW (of England not Scotland!) which was Cardinham. Much fresher feel today with a Force 3-4 N and lower humidity. Max temperature looks like being a degree or so lower. Prolonged strong sunshine though. The sea really was exceptionally calm yesterday - see www.easterling.freeserve.co.uk/SCalm.html Hardly anything to break the swell for 3,000 miles and yet hardly a ripple yet alone a wave. Says a lot about the recent synoptic set up. The calm conditions and sunshine pushed the SST just above 60f even out at Sevenstones. Graham Penzance |
