Thursday proved to be the wettest day on record in Rochdale (1947). Frequent torrential downpours occurred between 1300hrs and 2200hrs. Just over 73mm was recorded in this period.

That means 56mm fell somewhere between the Leeds and rochdale , leeds 30mls

The Rochdale figure does seem excessive though, that's nearly 3 inches!
