I say *squelch*. 50mm, is that all - drizzle :-) Try telling that to the silly soggy Dove that's nesting on my back garden floodlight on a high-up corner, exposed to the West! ![]() http://www.daveludlow.com/weather/20...inrain1562.jpg -- Dave |

Over half an inch of it so far at a guess (had a quick glance at the rain guage but I wasn't staying out there to measure it!). From the radar, Nigel in Romsey should have had more than me. That'll take it well over 50mm here, for the month to date. Enough! I say *squelch*. 50mm, is that all - drizzle :-) Will ---------------------- I daren't think how much has fallen on Dartmoor today. I've had 11mm so far which doesn't sound much but that's 32 mm this week, *which is a lot for here! 43.4mm here in Haytor, so far ... Higher up there has been circa 69mm near Postbridge at 360m asl. I estimate 90mm on the most exposed Tors.http://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk/Hayt...o.uk/index.php and it's still heaving down at 3.3 mm/h here. Circa 170mm in the month so far. Will 50.8mm in Penzance in 24 hours ending 18:00 today. That's the largest 24 hour total since 78.9mm on 26/6/06 90.4mm so far this month. Still, with a bit of a swell, only moderate SW winds, 18-19C, SST 15-16C and some sunshine, might be pretty good for a bit of bodyboarding this weekend. Graham Penzance |

Another burst of mod to heavy rain as I type, so the totals listed below for Romsey are rapidly becoming out of date. Last 12 hours (09/0900-09/2100Z)... 26.5mm Last 24 hours (08/2100-09/2100Z)... 38.2mm Month to date.................................... 66.1mm Nigel (Romsey, Hampshire) |

The final totals for the day here we Last 24 hours (00Z to 00Z): 31.1 mm Month to date: 72.2 mm (because of the 28.6mm on the 7th). Two days like this so close together are very unusual here - I think I can safely say the rain wasn't over-hyped for here! And that poor nesting dove on the back wall now has rain dripping off its tail. It is still raining! -- Dave Fareham (West) |
