Given that it looks like being a very wet July here in Devon I thought I'd
start a thread documenting the event as it proceeds.

Estimated monthly average for 1971-2000 is 88mm.

July 1st - NIL
2nd - 4.2
3rd - 8.7
4th - 8.1
5th - 50.7
6th - 33.6
7th - 20.1
8th - 0.5
9th - 43.4
10th - 6.0

11th - 3.2
Total so far = 178.5mm

Tourists were out in numbers yesterday enjoying the fine conditions in good
visibility. Still wet underfoot but drying out nicely in places. The high
moor, however, is saturated still and some of the mires will be treacherous,
i.e. normal winter conditions in high summer!

Looking at the charts today I cannot see us reaching the magic 300mm
(barring a thunderstorm) but 200mm should be exceeded nicely. Veg. garden is
recovering and the broad beans are lifting themselves up again with a bit of
help from me.
