Issued last week and initially based on statistical methods. Apologies if
it's already been mentioned.

The seasonal category maps may also be of interest

Seems to be very similar to last year, a transition to progressively
drier and warmer weather as we move into autumn... though I have to
say I'd be very surprised to see *yet another* dry warm September
after so many lately.

Just had a look at the last 3 Septembers, and it seems that the warmth of
the first half of this month quite remarkable and has been a continuation of
summer-like temperatures. Only during the latter half of the month did a
cooling trend begin to appear.

September (1st - 15th) Mean Max:
2005 22.5°C
2006 21.5°C
2007 21.9°C
Average: 22.0°C

Days exceeding 20°C (1st - 15th)
2005 11
2006 10
2007 12
