Brussels on Saturday 26th July

Bright at first with sunny intervals but overcast and increasingly
dark towards 11.00 local time.

Thunder and lightning at 11.20 and rain from 11.30. Rain heavy for a
few minutes but then slackened off - stopped by 12.00. Thunder of
moderate intensity rumbled fairly constantly for about half an hour
but I saw only a couple of flashes of lightning. 17 mm rain recorded
at Uccle in the south of Brussels but none at all at the Airport to
the NE of the city. I live roughly midway between the two and would
guess that no more than 5 mm fell here.

Sky brightened again from 13.00 with sunny intervals and from about
15.00 it was much clearer with prolonged sunshine and just some high
cloud. Quite warm and humid – light WNW to NNW wind.

Brussels Uccle 24.2°C - overnight minimum 16.3°C - and 17 mm rain.
Brussels Airport 24.9°C - overnight minimum 16.5°C.
